The Contact Group is delighted to have been successful in applying for a grant from the Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund small grants programme to help facilitate the participation of 10 small charities in the Contact & RCPsych Quality Network for Veteran Mental Health Services (QNVMHS). The funding will be used for subsidised network memberships over the next 3 years to enable the continued participation of small charity providers of clinical veteran mental health (VMH) services.
Quality improvement and accreditation of VMH providers facilitated through QNVMHS will mean that, for participating teams, as well as helping to improve their services and outcomes for beneficiaries where needed, accreditation will also result in increased networking and organisational profile, and therefore greater opportunities for increased beneficiary numbers and new and increased partnership working and funding in future. It will also assist members of the UK armed forces community (including veterans and their families/carers) to more easily access services that are operating according to recognised best practice and agreed quality standards.
Founded in 1803, Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund is the oldest military charity of its kind, supporting the armed forces community on behalf of the Lloyd’s market. The focus is on improving the transition to civilian life for veterans and their families who need the most help. Today, Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund unites support from the market to aid the successful transition to civilian life for veterans and their families to ensure successful futures. Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund partners with military charities who are best placed to meet the mental health and employment needs of the military community.
